The genetic reasons: why this happens?

However, most of these factors still are unknown. They have determined that this form of hair loss is related to hormones called androgens. This is particularly due to an androgen called dihydrotestosterone. This hormone is important for normal male sexual development before birth and at the time of puberty. Androgens also have other important functions in both males and females. This includes functions such as regulating hair growth and sex drive.
According to hair specialists, hair growth in our scalp begins under the skin in structures which are known as hair follicles. Each strand of hair usually grows for about 2 to 6 years. Then they go into a resting phase for several months. Thereafter they fall off. This cycle starts over when the follicle begins growing a new hair. Some studies show that increased levels of androgens in hair follicles can lead to a shorter cycle of hair growth. It might also lead to the growth of shorter and thinner strands of hair.
